Founded by hockey enthusiast Mike Canavan and renowned skill development coach and mentor Mike Henderson, Confidence Hockey is dedicated to developing players, supporting coaches, and strengthening hockey associations. Our tailored training solutions include team instruction, structured practices, private and small-group training, and high-intensity skills and conditioning camps.

MEET MIKE HENDERSON, DIRECTOR AND HEAD INSTRUCTOR
Mike Henderson is a renowned certified professional coach and mentor with 18 years of experience developing players and mentoring coaches at various levels. He has worked with players around the world, utilizing his effective and unique teaching methods to enhance skill development and performance. His expertise includes coaching elite athletes, having conducted 38 skill development sessions with the New York Rangers (NHL) and 35 development sessions with the New Jersey Devils (NHL), as well as working with MGHL, Junior A, AA, and AAA associations.
A former professional hockey player, Mike competed in the USA, Europe, and Japan and attended the Dallas Stars (NHL) Training Camp. Before turning pro, he earned a Division 1 hockey scholarship to Lake Superior State University. After two seasons, he joined the Ontario Hockey League’s Barrie Colts, where he won an OHL Championship and competed in the Memorial Cup.

With more than 15 years devoted to coaching and mentoring young players, Mike has earned a respected reputation in the Greater Toronto Hockey League (GTHL) and Mississauga Hockey League (MHL).
His approach goes beyond just teaching skills on the ice; Mike is committed to developing each child’s confidence, teamwork, and resilience, making him a true role model in youth hockey. Known for his patience, guidance, and unwavering dedication, Mike creates a positive environment where kids feel encouraged and supported. His impact on young athletes and the community is widely recognized, making him a pillar in youth hockey and a valued mentor for both players and their families.
