OPERATIONAL STRUCTURE - MY HOCKEY CONSULTANT MENTORING PROGRAM:

Players will have unlimited access to Mike Henderson throughout the season, ensuring they receive ongoing mentorship, expert guidance, and unwavering support. This exclusive opportunity allows players to tap into Mike’s extensive knowledge and experience whenever they need it—whether it’s to analyze a recent game, fine-tune their skills, discuss mental strategies, or seek advice on overcoming challenges.

Throughout the season, players will submit 10 videos of their in-game performances to Mike Henderson. Utilizing the advanced Motion Pro video analysis system, Mike will provide a comprehensive breakdown of each submission. This system allows for precise editing, highlighting key moments and detailing the player’s positioning, decision-making, and execution during specific shifts.


Each video submission will be followed by a one-on-one virtual meeting with Mike, where the player will join him in a classroom setting. During these meetings, Mike will walk the player through the detailed analysis of their shifts, breaking down their decisions, movements, and overall effectiveness. Together, they will discuss areas for improvement and explore actionable steps the player can take to enhance their game. 


These follow-up meetings ensure that the player fully understands the feedback, making it easier to apply the insights to their next game and development session. This ongoing review and guidance will help the player continually grow, adjust, and fine-tune their skills throughout the season.

10 Face-to-Face Mentoring Sessions

Before stepping onto the ice for skill development, Mike Henderson will conduct in-depth video analysis sessions with the player in a classroom setting. These sessions will focus on reviewing specific game film clips from the player's recent performances, allowing for a personalized breakdown of strengths, areas for improvement, and key decision-making moments.


Through interactive discussions, Mike will ask thought-provoking questions to engage the player, encouraging them to analyze their own play and develop a deeper hockey IQ. He will also present video examples of similar in-game situations, showcasing both correct techniques and alternative solutions from high-level players. By comparing these scenarios to the player's own shifts, Mike ensures they gain a clear understanding of optimal positioning, timing, and execution.

Additionally, Mike will use whiteboard diagrams and strategic breakdowns to illustrate different options for the player to implement during games. This hands-on approach helps players visualize their role on the ice, reinforcing key concepts that will translate directly into their performance.


Following the video review, Mike Henderson will transition to a high-intensity on-ice session tailored to the specific game situations discussed.   • Frequency: Players will meet four times throughout the season, once per quarter. This provides a structured approach to mental performance, spaced out so players can track their progress and adapt over time. These meetings give players consistent touchpoints to reinforce their mental game and adjust as needed during the season.

Focus on Mental Performance:

  • Mental Tools: The meetings will equip players with strategies to improve their mental game, which is critical for peak performance. This could include techniques such as visualization, self-talk, mindfulness, or emotional regulation—all aimed at helping players stay focused, confident, and calm under pressure.
     

Managing the Highs and Lows of the Season:

  • Emotional Resilience: Every season has its ups and downs, whether it’s winning streaks or losing streaks, injuries, or personal setbacks. Peter will help players navigate these emotional shifts and maintain a stable mindset throughout, ensuring they don’t get too high after wins or too low after losses.
